Actress Taraji P. Henson Leaves America SPEECHLESS With SAG Acceptance Speech

If you didn’t catch the SAG Awards last night, you missed very little—mostly two hours of celebrities trashing President Trump and his first week in office.

There was one speech, however, that stood apart from the rest.

Not for its political undertones or sharp criticisms, but instead, for the rare uplifting message it portrayed.

Actress Taraji P. Henson climbed the stage alongside her “Hidden Figures” co-stars and delivered a speech that all Americans could appreciate (via Allen B. West).

Check it out:

“This film is about unity,” Henson said. “The shoulders of the women that we stand on are three American heroes: Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson. Without them, we would not know how to reach the stars.”

“These women did not complain about the problems, the circumstances, the issues,” she continued. “They focused on solutions. Therefore, these brave women helped put men into space.”

“This story is about what happens when we put our differences aside, and we come together as a human race,” she concluded. “We win. Love wins every time … They are hidden figures no more!”
A refreshing perspective on a divisive night.
